The ocean is one of Earth's most valuable natural resources. It provides seafood, transportation, minerals, oil and gas, renewable energy as well as tourism and recreation. The aim of this presentation is to discuss about the current technologies, challenges and future educational and research activities in aquaculture technology, marine and offshore engineering, offshore renewable energy, as well as coastal engineering. This will further stimulate active educational and research collaborations between institutions and companies in both national and international levels.

University of Stavanger (UiS) is a science and technology-based university. The Ocean Technology Innovation Cluster Stavanger (OTICS) at UiS is a leading academic group for education and research within Ocean Technology. The PhD program in Offshore Technology and the Master program in Marine and Offshore Technology at UiS are available for both local and international students. Since 2017, UiS has identified “Ocean Technology” as one of the strategic research areas 2017-2020. This presentation will show the research activities at UiS which are related to aquaculture technology, offshore and subsea technology, offshore wind energy as well as fjord-crossing technology.

专家简介:

Muk Chen Ong is a Professor in Marine Technology and Marine Operations at University of Stavanger (UiS), Norway and a member of Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences (NTVA). He is currently Strategic Research Area Leader for Ocean, Leader of Ocean Technology Innovation Cluster Stavanger, UiS EU Project Positioning Coordinator for Ocean Technology and Head of Marine and Subsea Technology Group at UiS. He is also a key researcher in Norwegian Research Centre for Offshore Wind Technology (NOWITECH). He has published over 160 international journal and conference papers. He is an Associate Editor of ASME Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, an Editorial Board Member of Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Maritime Engineering, an Editorial Board Member of Journal of the Korean Society of Fisheries and Ocean Technology, and an Editorial Board Member of Ocean Systems Engineering (International Journal). He is also scientific committee members in International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering (OMAE), International Conference on Scour and Erosion (ICSE) and Conference on Computational Mechanics (MekIT). His research interests are: Dynamic analysis of offshore fish cages/net; Marine lifting operations and installations; Dynamic analysis of offshore wind turbines; Vortex-induced vibrations; CFD with turbulence modelling; Flows around marine pipelines, wind turbine foundations, ROVs and subsea structures; internal flow in subsea piping system and valves; Scour around offshore structures; Free surface flow and wave kinematics.

Muk Chen Ong(王木泉)教授是挪威斯塔万格大学(UiS)海洋技术与海洋施工研究方向专家、挪威技术科学院院士,是UiS海洋科技学术带头人、海洋科技创新中心主任、UiS欧盟(EU)海洋技术子项目的负责人、海洋工程学科主任以及挪威海上风机技术研究中心(NOWITECH)的主要研究员之一。目前已发表了160篇以上的国际期刊和国际会议论文,担任国际期刊《Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering》(ASME)副主编;《Journal of the Korean Society of Fisheries and Ocean Technology》、《Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Maritime Engineering》与《Ocean Systems Engineering》编委;International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering (OMAE)、International Conference on Scour and Erosion (ICSE)和Conference on Computational Mechanics (MekIT)等国际会议科学委员会成员。主要研究领域包括:渔箱/渔网的动态分析、海洋起重操作和装置、浮式风力发电机的动态分析、涡激振动、CFD与湍流建模、海洋管道/风机基座/ROV和深海海底结构的流体结构互相作用、海底管道系统和阀门内部流动、海洋结构的冲刷、自由表面流动和波浪动力学。
